Moonbell - Figurine E.P

Like most things, there is an opposite. A good and bad. A beautiful side and an ugly side. Light and dark. Lost and found. Together and apart. Grounded and floating. Same could be said for emotions....

Happy and sad. Love and hate. Then there are all the things you feel between.

And sometimes, you just can't find the words to describe how you feel. You search for words. Words that just aren't there. So you turn to other things. Pictures, visions...sounds. Have you ever had a sound, or combination of them, describe how you feel? I have. Many times. It's like a revelation when you come across them.

The Figurine EP, from the San Francisco band, Moonbell, is a 4 song gem, creating conflict with feelings you never knew existed. It's a quick journey. But quick only in time. Because while you listen, it doesn't feel quick. You feel as if you are in slow motion, like you are running in a slowed down kaleidoscope. The colors change all around you as you slowly dodge the sounds that are constantly coming at you from every direction. It's creating visions, and feelings...feelings you can't always describe. Feelings you have been searching for, for ages, form within your ears.

This EP stretches your very being. You see both a beautiful side and an ugly side. You see both dark and light. You feel like you are floating up to the skies, yet, you feel a pull back to the earth. It can make you feel together, small and compact, yet, make you feel large and full of void. Feelings of happiness and sadness mix together, and weave in and out of the beams of light that are shooting through those voids, creating a mixture of light and dark. And you see all of this happening, like you are watching from within.

This is a dream pop gem, with a shoegaze undertone. Certain things will be more prevalent, depending on your musical tastes. Dig through it, and search...you will find it, if you look hard enough. Layered, it's heavy...it floats. Let it stretch you...to the moon.
