As I procrastinate through the reams and reams of opinioned journalism, the old adage 'If you can't beat them, slag them off on the internet' pushes me to begin making my own contribution to the information machine.
As a freelance film maker, you encounter vast spectrums of personal challenges, from financial dependences to learning that your boss is truly an arsehole only when you start working for yourself (yes, that is a self employed gag). But when you're immersed in the realm of the 'free', you do encounter some amazing (albeit strange) people. All struggling, but somehow surviving. In a current climate where trust funds and privilege shells climb the career ladder with handshakes and £200 lunches, while the rest of the world scrambles over itself for the smallest crumb from that very table, it is the people that are creating for the love of progression that stop me from selling out and making customer service training videos whilst giving handjobs to evil bank ltd to stop them from taking everything I own. I digress?
I'm going to do my best to find the people who are doing it their way, not making millions, but making themselves happy in a time when we're told we shouldn't be.
Find it all a bit too depressing? Check out Panda Dog.
If you know of someone or something a bit special that is surviving is this money jungle, get in touch.
