Kelly Murray’s Candid Fever

VIP Rumes, Preston

Kelly Murray speaks to Bez at the opening of the VIP Rumes in Preston

Preston is famous for a few things. No really, it is; one of the founders of America (that's a pretty cool claim to fame) Benjamin Franklin owned a house there, Kenny Baker aka R2-D2 in Star Wars was from Preston and as the story goes, notorious American outlaw, Butch Cassidy, was the son of two Mormons from the area who emigrated to Texas. If only he'd stuck to hot brews instead of all that crime nonsense, we wouldn't have had to look at Robert Redford 'acting' as much as we have, but that's a whole different rant. Preston was even the very first place in the UK to open a KFC. I'm not praising that bit mind, you greasy, chicken loving bastards!

But enough of what's in the past, forget 53 Degrees even, there's a brand new venue adventure going on in Preston courtesy of VIP Rumes - a brand spanking new club night which delivers celebrity DJ's and their favourite tunes right up in your dirty ear holes and down to your not so rhythmic feet. Never said Preston was famous for dancing did I? With this in mind, Candid Fever braved the opening with a certain Happy Monday manning the decks and talking the way only he could; wonderfully, Mancunian and terribly incoherent. Not from the north and want subtitles? Piss off! This is VIP Rumes, not the Early Leaning Centre. Grab a seat and see what you missed out on. You definitely missed posh tequila by the way, that went into my belly. That's right, I said posh; it's how us VIP's roll y'know...
