Sam Barrett - The Koolaid Electric Company. Nuclear Bunker Discs.

Guardian of The Bunker

The Koolaid Electric Company - I've played nothing else all day. I've been sat staring at a blank page wondering what the hell to write about this band. Occasionally I just can't...those times, those few times, I know why. It's music more powerful than my words can convey & it means more to me than to try. I just want to listen again & again...I'm a sucker for guitars, the more that seem to either merge or intertwine the happier you'll find me. So I'll go no further than to say some songs will caress you, some will wash over you & some will just kick the shit out of you. The Koolaid Electric Company don't seem to have courted publicity - there's little information knocking about. There might be a reason, there might not & here at Tin Can we're not that interested to know why. That way it is all about the music. In the long run, it's the perfect way for the songs to shine through knowing little about the band - in the last few years they undoubtedly have for many people. So we're especially delighted that Sam Barrett kindly gave us his time to pick his 5 discs & resist the urge to rip it up & do it all over again... All that is left to say is that the album is in the bag & the launch night is May 12th at The Lexington in London. In the not too distant future they will head back into the studio to start working on the follow up, with plenty of new tracks at the ready. Oh yeah, thanks Sam. And thanks to The Koolaid Electric Company for keeping it special...
