Take The Sun And Burn The Earth...things are approaching completion in the Lupine Howl camp...
Bit by bit, day by day, the tracks are being prepared for release.
This is the long awaited third album from the ex Spiritualized members Sean Cook, Mike Mooney & Jonny Mattock.
Suppose it's kind of fitting - coming out in the same year that the current incarnation of Spiritualized tour to celebrate the album this trio put so much into - Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space...
Anyway, enough of that - that was then...
We asked Sean how things were, how soon Take The Sun & Burn The Earth would see light of day:
"It's hard to be exact but we're looking at sometime in October. Restoration of old tapes - anything might happen!
We're more than halfway through - Mike has added a few more guitar tracks so everything is now recorded. What is finished sounds fuckin' enormous - big & ballsy."
I'm doing the mixing with Ian Humphries who's really got the bit between his teeth - I've known him for years & believe it or not he was the tape op when "Pure Phase" was recorded. Artwork is in the hands of Andy Jenks who used to be in the band "Alpha".
"We're thinking of a 3 track EP before the album - fuck it, it's more like a triple A side. Maybe a Class A side...if we do it'll contain the 2 tracks that are up on Soundcloud plus a new one - just to show that the new mixes piss all over those that have been heard. They are just a raw, live recording from the sessions."
